Dear Deret,

9th June, 1967.

In Gaminara Ли

You wrote to me on 31st May about

a point raised by the Prime Minister on telegram No. 699 of 25th May from Hong Kong,

We looked into this matter right away but felt that, as the "challenge" was then several days old, the possibility of getting publicity through the normal channels was remote. In the circumstances we arranged for the point to be covered in the reply given by Lord Beswick in the House of Lords on 6th June to a Question by Lord Rhodes about disturbances in Hong Kong. (House of Lords Official Report Col. 270.)

Yours sincerely,

(D. P. R. Mackilligin)
