Discussions with Governor of Hong Kong in London

5. During recent discussions in London with the Governor of Hong Kong

consideration was given to various suggestions for gestures which might

be made by Her Majesty's Government to show friendship and goodwill

for Hong Kong. One such suggestion was that senior Parliamentary figures

might make occasional friendly references to Hong Kong. The Secretary

of State may wish to take the opportunity of mentioning this suggestion

to Mr. Royle in his capacity as Chairman of the Anglo-Hong Kong All Party

Parliamentary Group.
