Minister of State met recently.
He has served for five
years on the Legislative Council and is also a member of the Executive Council. Since the Governor thinks it desirable to have/Executive Council members on the Legislative Council and since he expects the other member of both Councils, Y.K. Kan to leave the Legislative Council next year, he wants to retain F.S. Li on the Legislative Council for a further term.
4. I recommend the approval of the Governor's proposals for nomination of Unofficial Members. 10 seats on the Legislative Council (although two of these are nominations of the Justices of the Peace and Chamber of Commerce) will fall due in June next year, offering better scope for changes. We should by then also have a much better idea of where we are going with re-organisation of the local administration.
