GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONG KONG.
15 July 1968.
Mr. Gaminara
Sir,
I have the honour to refer to the Acting Governor's despatch of 16th May, and to forward further petitions from organizations, the names of which are listed in the enclosure to this despatch, requesting that my term of office as Governor be extended.
These petitions are classified into four categories, namely, those addressed to Her Majesty the Queen, to the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs, to Her Majesty's Government and those where there is no specific addressee.
I believe the decision about the extension of the Governor's term of office has already been made. These petitions in any case add nothing to to those already received.
