Udal variable length conveyor ply, it has duplicated grouped inter- locking controls providing ease of access and full control from either side. Models are available up to 16 ft. extended length, in a variety of belt widths.
COMPRESSED AIR
A high-pressure multiple-bottle air- charging unit which offers a free-air delivery of 10 c.f.m. at a maximum pressure of 3,500 p.s.i. has been added to the MDE/Bristol range.
Designated the Model 10, the unit is designed for use where large quanti- ties of breathing air are required and features a filter system to remove oil, water and other impurities. A single- lever, multi-charging panel is available to eliminate the need for elaborate manifolds, allowing cylinders to be changed in seconds with no loss of charging time.
The whole unit measures 48in, long by 24in. wide by 28in. high. A modi-

fied Bristol 'Duplex' BM4S-16 four- stage airflow-cooled compressor is driven by a 10-b.h.p. electric motor on the standard version, but four-stroke petrol or diesel engines are offered as alternative power sources. The standard unit's dry weight is approximately 600 lb.

CONCRETE GRINDER
The Errut PRM pedestrian-control- led grinder for use on concrete, stone and metal surfaces is now available in an electrically powered form. Its pur- pose-built gearbox requires only a small power unit, taking 1 h.p. from the motor and enabling the machine to be operated from a mains supply.
The 110-/250-v. dual-tapping, single- phase motor is two-pole, runs at 2,860 r.p.m. and transmits its power via twin A-section belts directly to the gearbox to give an output speed of 250 r.p.m. An overload cut-out is combined with the on/off switch on the starter unit and the oil-immersed gearbox drive features interchangeable assemblies with invo- lute-spline fixings.
From the gears the drive is taken to two 1lin. diameter contrarotating alu- minium discs, each carrying three flat carborundum grinding stones,, wire brushes or scarifiers with a combined

area of 48 sq. in. Flexible couplings permit a free movement of lin. to the discs for operation over uneven sur- faces, and ensure that the grinding sur- faces remain flat against the floor, irrespective of wear.
Safety stops prevent the carrier discs themselves from touching the ground, and their design incorporates a surrounding skirt.

SANDER
An improved version of the Elu MFK.36 sander, with a fully-adjustable canting fence for use when sanding narrow edges, is being marketed by Trend Industrial Equipment Ltd., 1 Lechmere Road, London, N.W.2. The canting fence allows bevelled edges to be sanded consistently at the correct angle.
Suitable for general sanding opera. tions, the tool may also be used effec- tively to sand both the edges and the rebates of timber. The spring-loaded sanding plate, which maintains itself at 90 degrees to the work surface, ex-

tends to the edge of the base and thus enables the tool to reach into the cor- ners of rebates.
Sanding pressure can be adjusted by means of a knurled knob while the machine is in operation. This enables a low sanding pressure to be applied, for example, when working on narrow re- bates, and a higher pressure when sanding large surfaces.
The tool has a 5/8 h.p. motor and is fitted with a compact dust extractor unit.
SPRAY OUTFIT
Spee-Flo Manufacturing Corpora- tion, 4631 Winfield, Houston, Texas, USA, has introduced the Quali-Pak – a combination of the compact MobilAir compressor and a 601 series medium production gun.
The outfit also includes an efficient moisture separator and air hose with full pressure regulation for the com- pressor. It operates on any 115-volt electric outlet.
The compressor is equipped with a device which substitutes a single con-

trol for the usual tank, head unloader, pilot valve and air regulator of the con- ventional system. This reduces the weight of the unit and gives it a higher output.
