Colorsteel is a hot-dip galvanised sheet, in 20, 22 and 24 gauge, coated on one or both sides with p.v.c. in a range of 12 colours. The material is made in flat sheet form, up to 4 ft. wide and in maximum lengths of 20 ft. it is also available in various trough profiles.

Standard profiles include Broad Rib, with 1-9/16 in. deep narrow troughs, pitched at 64 in., and with nominal cover width of 2 ft. 3 in.; Trough Rib, in uniform shallow- sloped troughs and ridges, 11⁄2 in. deep and at 5% in. pitch, covering a nominal width of 2 ft. 4 in.; and Panel Rib, with shallow 1⁄2 in. troughs at 4-9/16 in. pitch, and covering 2 ft. 8 in. nominal.

Miniature Typewriter Prints Letters on Drawings

AN alternative to stencils and transfers for inserting lettering, mea- surements, etc., on architectural and building drawings is the German- made Gritzner lettering machine.

This is a miniature typewriter that fits on

to the horizontal bar of a drawing machine and prints clear, uniform letters, figures and symbols that are suitable for reproduction, and can easily be erased if necessary.

The lettering machine 54 in. by 64 in, at the base, by 3% in. high, and weighs 1 lb. 12 oz. The keyboard is arranged for single- handed operation and holds 34 keys. including shift, spacer, stop and release keys. Characters include full alphabet of 3 mm. high capitals. 11 frequently used lower-case letters, the figures 0-9, and 14 conventional draughtsman's symbols triangle, plus, minus, etc.

These are inked from a pad that swings down under the type just be- fore it touches the paper, without obscuring the drawing during align- ment. The pad is soaked with special ink, one drop of which is said to be sufficient for about 5,000 impressions.

The typing head incorporates a poin- ter for positioning the character on the drawing. A range of typefaces and symbols to suit different purposes is under development.

The machine is supplied with a special ruler, embodying a toothed guide rail, which is substituted for the conventional horizontal rule of the

drawing machine. The typewriter is

mounted on this and advances itself along the notches after each key is pressed, where, in a normal type- writer. the carriage advances paper past a stationary keyboard.

The Trico-fold folding doors are made from heavy guage vinyl with fibre panels as stiffeners and separ- ated from a non-rusting duralumin overhead track by means of nylon sheaves. There are two types con- certina doors and room dividers. The latter are made in single units or in pairs.

Trico sliding doors are made for a variety of purposes from cupboard door tracks, supporting doors weighing up to 10 Kg., to industrial fittings for 500 Kg. doors.
