Central staff facilities are included in the main complex, and student ac- commodation and living quarters for all grades of trained staff are planned for the site.

The radiotherapy centre therefore stands as part of a multi-discipline campus type complex which will serve all specialities, with excellent facilities for contact between the staff of the different units. The isotope scanners located at the first floor will be utilis- ed by the staff of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Institute for Neurological Sciences to be built immediately to the south of the centre, the two build- ings being connected by a covered

way.

Construction

The structure is basically a re- inforced concrete frame with round columns and flat slabs. The round columns show two types of finish: 'mirror' finish with the concrete cast in formica-lined formwork to give a
