control box which can be fitted at any distance from the dimmer unit. The control box is mounted in a standard MK switch box 3-3/8 in. x 5 in. x 1-5/8 in. and can be mounted flush in a wall or panel, or can be projection mounted.
It contains a neat, heavy-duty on/off switch and potentiometer and knob with matching ivory finish.
The dimmer unit has a ventilated steel case 9 in. x 5 in. x 5 in. and contains electronic circuit and inter- ference suppression chokes. It is capable of controlling up to 5000 watts of tungsten lighting or 2000 watts of fluorescent lighting.
The combination of the high power dimmer with remote control means that a complete installation, for example in a hotel, restaurant, theatre or dance hall, can be controlled from a central point with a very small unit.
SPRAY PLANT
Up to 1.4 gallons of plant per minute can be applied through one, two or three spray guns with the Presi- dent 30:1 Hydra Spray pump. Design- ed for finishing or maintenance work, it is available with three different wheeled carriages and is also suit-
able for drum or elevator mounting.
A 41⁄2 in. diameter reciprocating air motor, operating from air at 20 to 120 psi. provides power for the spray. Fluid pressure is 30 times inlet pres- sure and the unit features a divorced design which positions the fluid pump

apart from the air motor to protect the latter from fluid entry.
Without a mounting the pump measures 3 ft. high overall and weighs about 55 lb. It is extremely hard-wear- ing, the design featuring a microfini- shed, nitrided-steel pump cylinder, air valve and displacement rod, and heat- treated and stainless steel internal ball- check valves fitted with tungsten- carbide seats. Triple tie rods ensure
precise alignment of the air motor and fluid pump.
A complete spray plant comprises the pump, an air regulator with gauge, an outlet manifold with a 50-mesh filter, the mounting, 25 ft. of nylon spray hose and the spray gun or guns.

PAINT
A water-based fleck paint has been introduced by Dixons Paints Ltd., Hertford Road, Barking, Essex, UK, for interior use. Being non-cellulose and of low odour, it may be used in areas where food is stored and hand- led.
After the surface has been prepared in the normal way, a ground coat is brushed, rolled or sprayed on to seal the plaster, rendering or brick, cover- ing 50-60 sq.yd. per gallon.
The top coat, which must be spray- ed, covers 15 to 25 sq.yd. per gallon and dries in four to six hours, be- coming hard overnight. It has a slightly eggshell finish that resists moisture, oil and grease. The fleck is available in ten colour combinations.
