Mobile storage units

Compactus mobile storage systems consist of steel shelving units or cab- inets mounted on rails. Individual units are easily moved apart to pro- vide access. This saves floor space which would otherwise be taken up with permanent aisles if conventional non-moving shelving was used. The systems can be either manually or electrically operated.

Storage area is reduced up to 50 per cent by use of these units which

separate excitation and a completely laminated magnetic circuit. Base and mounting are steel channel, support- ing a pressed steel canopy. Hinged panels give easy accessibility.

Crane

The Steelweld MSC3 mobile crane will lift 3 tons to a height of 12 ft. or 1 ton to 19 ft. 9 in. The load can be slewed through 60 degrees-30 de- grees either side of centre, while on the move or stationary. Travelling speeds are from 1.5 to 25 m.p.h.

Built integrally with the Chamber- lain Champion tractor, the unit uses normal tractor-type controls and power assisted steering. Jib move- ments, both slewing and luffing, are controlled hydraulically by two levers.

Flame cutter

Fitted with high-speed taper seat nozzles, the Comweld Clipper por- table flame cutting machine will ac- curately cut 4 in. steel plate or will make bevel cuts up to 21⁄2 in. at 45 degrees.

With trammel attachments it cuts circles from 3 in. to 45 in. diameter.

Packaged conditioner

The Chrysler packaged air conditioner is a compact ready to install unit with adjustable air discharge, quiet opera- tion, hermetically sealed refrigeration units and bonderized steel cabinet. Models are available for wall or win- dow mounting, singly or in multiples.

Capacities range from 10,700 Btu/h to 21.500 Btu h based on 50 c/s operation. Supply required is 230 V, 1-ph., 50 c/s.

Earthmovers

A complete range of self-loading ele- vating and standard open-top scrap- ers is made by Le Tourneau-Westing- house Pty. Ltd.

There are three sizes of elevating scraper 10, 21 and 31 cu. yd. capacity. All are electrically con- trolled. The 10 cu. yd. model, which has the same productive self-loading capabilities as its two larger counter- parts, is displayed.

A fast moving elevator powered by LW electric motors scoops the earth off the

scraper blade and carries it up and to the back of the bowl. This action also pul- verizes the material eliminating voids in the load and giv- ing a thoroughly blended mix which requires far less compaction in fol lowing operations.

Industrial tractor

Powered by a Perkins 62 h.p. diesel engine, the Champion Mk II indus- trial tractor has a drawbar pull of 8,500 lb. at 2.0 m.p.h. while top speed at 2,000 rev min. is 30 m.p.h.

Two gearboxes are fitted, with separate change levers to give six for- ward and two reverse speeds. Clear- ance turning circle is 32 ft. and weight including water ballast is 9,343 lb.

Standard equipment includes upswept exhaust, wide base heavy cast rear wheels, heavy duty sɔlid front axle, full width bench seat and engine instrumentation.
