The general structural design of the building has made full use of crosswalls to bear wind stresses in a tall. narrow block. This has also helped to eliminate beams in all main rooms. In comparison with normal present day costs, this has resulted in a very economical building.
The cost of the structure alone was $1.05 per cubic foot, whereas the overall cost of the building, includ ing all finishes and sub-contracts (but excluding land) was just under 84.00 per cubic foot.
The architects had the benefit throughout of the owner's great in- terest in the project. This has result- ed in one of the most attractive architectural additions to the "Mid Levels" in recent years.
The general contractors were the Sincere Construction Co. Other sub.
contractors and suppliers included.
