A U-shaped plan makes advantage- ՌԱԳ use of the five-sided site. with the playground partially enclosed and connected to the covered play grounds.
To comply with education re- quirements. the ground floor is oc- cupied to a great extent by one large and one small covered playground. leaving minor spaces for boys' and girlsTM changing rooms. toilet rooms and the caretaker's quarter.
The administrative offices and six class rooms are placed on the first floor, another six class rooms, one general purpose room, one teacher's room and toilet rooms on the second floor. The open verandah provides passages as well as cross ventilation and additional natural light to all class rooms-a desirable feature in hot and humid Hong Kong. Fluorescent lighting and ceil- ing fans are used throughout the building.
Church The third floor of the building is occupied by the Church
the construction cost of which, including piling. pump and well, drainage, and cost of land. was paid for by the Lutheran Church.
It has a seating capacity of 400 for the congregation and choir. Other accommodation includes clergy vestries, office, lobby, store, toilet room and the belfrv. To enhance the interior effect. a pitched ceiling was used. and three hinged arches are employed in the structure.
The two self-contained pastors' flats are placed in the North wing. Each flat contains three bedrooms, a living and dining room. bath. kitchen and hall.
