The whole new building, of R.C. frame with cantilevered corridor balconies, is L-shaped, built on a 45 degree sloping site which serves the structure on three levels. A hori- zontal louvre along the balcony serves as weather protection.
Walls and partitions are of brick. Foundations are part on piles and part resting on rock. An expansion joint separates the two.
Addition of this new extension to the school means that it is now pos- sible to move between any parts of the school and remain under cover the whole time.
Lavatories have trough basins with self-closing taps. W.C. doors have drop hinges so that they stay open when not in use.
Filtered drinking water is provid- ed on each half landing of the cen tral stair.
All floors are of Rubb-Grano, except the audio-vision room which has vinyl tile flooring. Lavatories have mosaic tile flooring and tiled dadoes.
The total cost of the new wing was $1,300,000.
