NATURAL LIGHTING

The location of the building pre- vented day lighting through north and south elevation, as is customary in tropical countries.

To permit maximum use of day light. the east and west elevations have been glazed from floor to ceil- ing. Also

all interior partitions where possible are made of obscur ed glass.

Shading for the east and west elelvations is by means of vertical unbreakers in anodised aluminium. These can be adjusted in individual offices to follow the movement of the sun.

Exterior walls on east and west elevations are faced with Swedish blue granite. The same material was used for wall cladding in the bank entrance and main lift lobby.

The project's structural engineer was Mr. C. H. Teoh: quantity sur veyors. Messrs. Langdon & Every (Far East) and general contractor. Lim Kah Ngam.
