The decor for the public areas. including the restaurant, cocktail lounge, coffee shop, is Malaysian in design and execution.
The motif is the Singapore lion. reflected in sculptures within the restaurant and mosaic-tiles at the base of the swimming pool. Adjacent to the swimming pool is a bar for -nacks and grills.
The two-storey service section in- corporates kitchens. refrigerated mechanical laundry and
rooms,
plant and an electric substation.
The architects for the hotel are the office of Kee Yeap. chartered architects, and the consultant struc- tural engineer is Mr. G.C. Chou, chatered engineer.
Intercontinental Hotels Corporation (a wholly owned subsidiary of Pan American Airways) are also consul- tants on hotel planning and layout. and were responsible for the interior decoration and design.
The air-conditioning and mechani- cal consultants were Jaros, Baum and Bolles of New York.
