▲ Broadcasting House, Jesselton. The home of Radio Sabah, the Government radio service of North Borneo, which was recently constructed by Messrs. Nanyang Construction Company (Manager K.T. Lai) of Jesselton. The building was designed by the Architects' Branch of the Public Works Department, North Borneo. L. Jackson, B. Eng., M.I.C.E., M.I.W.E., Director of Public Works. The building is fully air-conditioned with "York" equipment, supplied through Messrs. Sime Darby (B) Ltd. of Jesselton. Atlas electrical fittings are used throughout the building. During the recent visit to Jesselton of the Cobbold Commission enquiring into the views of the people of North Borneo on the question of federating with Malaya to form Malaysia, the building was used as the head- quarters of the commission.

Designed by Architect Billings Leong, the Jesselton branch of the Chung Khiaw Bank was opened by the Governor of North Borneo in December 1960. The building houses the Bank itself, and staff accommodation, together with the offices of the Indonesian Consul, and was built by Jesselton contracting firm, North Borneo Contractors. Jesselton's Airport Terminal building was designed by the Architects' Branch of the Public Works Department, North Borneo. L. Jackson, B. Eng., M.I.C.E., M.I.W.E., Director of Public Works. Built by Messrs. China Construction Company (Borneo) Ltd. of Jesselton, the building was completed just in time for the visit to Jesselton of the Duke of Edinburgh in early 1959. The building is designed with a belian shingle roof and many natural stone walls. Stairs from the passenger level to the observation platform cross a fish pond with fountain.
