Entrance to the grounds from Deep Water Bay Road is through a gate house which provides quarters for a watchman and housing for the electricity transformers. To one side are quarters for sixteen members of the staff. Accommodation for 100 cars is planed in the car park where there will also be a petrol pump.
The gently sloping nature of the site, descending from the road to the sea, has enabled the architect. Mr. Eric Cumine. to plan the club house on a split level. The lower ground floor is given over to changing and storage rooms, while the quieter
club activities are concentrated main- ly on the ground floor. The original plans provided residential facilities. on the first floor. These have been omitted but may be added later.
Main entrance to the club house from the approach drive is through a white terazzo open work screen standing the verandah distance from the particoloured main granite wall. Behind the entrance doors is an iron grille designed by Bernard Childe an American designer, when he was

This opens into the foyer and main gallery, 55 feet long by 18 feet wide. which leads to the main lounge (31 feet by 88 feet) in one corner of which is a cocktail bar. On the long west wall of the gallery is an abstract mural (40 feet by 1-4 feet) designed by Mr. Eddy Khoe, the architect in charge. Flooring is in teak and ceiling in acoustic tile
On the east side of the long gallery is a patio (314 feet by 50 feet) plant- ed as a garden, to the south of which and opening from the gallery is the main dining room. Both the dining room and the main lounge open through glass sliding doors on to a verandah. At the west end of the main lounge are a bridge room with four tables, a mah jong room with five tables and a reading/writing room. all of which open on to a verandah.
The main dining room is 43 feet by 33 feet and has accommodation for 108 diners. Its walls are in teak
veneer panels on two sides. wall paper on a third and sliding glass doors on the fourth. Lighting is through a false ceiling. The floor is teak parquet. Opening from the main dining room is a smaller dining room (13 feet by 23 feet! for private parties.
The kitchens (76 by 40 feet) lie to the east side of the patio from which they are separated by a wall. Con- nected to the kitchens are preparation rooms. store rooms. a cold storage room 116 feet by 10 feet). wine store. steward's room, accountant's room and a service yard.
Stairs lead down from the main gallery to the lower ground floor where there are men s. women s. boys and girls changing rooms. bath rooms. massage rooms and lockers. Lavatory fittings and wash. bowls in the children's rooms are of special small design. There is direct access from these rooms, through foot baths. to the lawns, sea and awimming pool.
