In effect, by limiting the coverage, the space that would have been wasted by corridors and bad arrange- ment has been turned into five stories of bright and airy flats.

All living, dining and bedrooms have windows on two sides thanks to the seven foot six strip on both sides.

The detached building, one of the very few in Hong Kong's built up areas, houses four European style apartments to a floor two facing Wong Nei Chong Road and two facing Ventris Road.

Each apartment has a living/dining room, three bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen, servant's quarters and water closet and a utility area. A large balcony adjourning the living area is separated by steel folding doors.

There was ΠΟ trouble selling the apartments. Ninety seven per cent were bought before construction finished.

Space for three shops was provid- ed on the ground floor.

Cost of construction, including foundations, lifts, electricity, gas, water and drainage was $2,100,000.

The building is a reinforced con- crete structure with four inch R.C.C. external walls and four and a half
