A problem thus arises which direction of main openings proves to be the most beneficial from the point of view of the position of the sun and also of the prevail- ing winds?
These two factors—the position of the sun and the direction of the winds-from the point of view of the most advantageous position of openings, does not quite coincide in Hongkong. Therefore one cannot categorically assert that the main openings should be placed 45° to south- west. However, the following points are to be given due consideratio.n.

However in July and August there will be insufficient through draft, while in February and March the house would probably be too cool.
