ROOFING

Aluminium Trim Eliminates Eaves Kerb

PAROTRIM aluminium edge trim for asphalt and felt roofs eliminates the use of an eaves kerb and thus reduces finishing costs. It also acts as a bar- rier to prevent water from seeping under the edge of the roofing layers.

The trim, which may be used on roofs of any size, is a T-shaped aluminium-alloy extrusion with a radiused top member, made in 8ft.

lengths. The pro- file embodies a re- turned flange at each edge of the T-section forming the exposed edge trim, to give lon- gitudinal stiffness, while the horizont- al tail of the T is designed to fit un- der the roof cover- ing.

This flange incorporates 1⁄2 in. ex- pansion slots at 9 in. intervals. Lengths of Parotrim are butt-jointed by rivetting the ends to an internal angle-section insert. Welded 6 in. by 6 in. angle-pieces are provided for internal and external corners.

Two versions of the trim available to suit the different charac- teristics of asphalt and bitumenous- felt roof finishes. On the asphalt model, a hooked profile formed on top of the horizontal flange prevents water from seeping back under the asphalt and penetrating the building, while two rows of serrations towards the rear of the flange provide an additional key for the asphalt.

The profile designed for felt roofing

is similar but incorporates a triangular fillet between the top of the flange and the curved outer section so that the felt can be bent up towards the top of the trim in a smooth curve. On this section also, the upper return flange is curved over in a channel to enclose the edge of the felt.

SPRAY TAP

Water Temperature Can Be Varied

THE Unatap type II, for basin mounted washing applications, delivers a spray of water at a constant volume but at a temperature which can be varied by the user, from cold through to warm and hot.

Inlet flow restrictors are fitted in the base of the tap. These enable the rate of discharge to be set at the re- quired level to suit the installation. The flow restrictors are said to give an advantage over other similar types of tap in that this individual adjust- ment to govern supplies of hot and

f

Unatap type II

cold water to the tap enables it to be used in installations where there are unequal pressures, up to a differential of 2:1.

The nozzle of the Unatap is designed so that it can be locked in any posi tion to suit the bowl or wash basin on which it is fitted. To simplify in- stallation the tap incorporates a dual connector and compression nut by which the chrome plated hot and cold inlet pipes are connected to the stem.
