On both long sides of the office block there are five-foot wide pro- jecting canopies from the window heads to reduce sky glare. They will also serve as walkways for window cleaning of the fixed external windows.
Vertical louvres are avoided here so that maximum view all round from the offices is obtained. Vertical louvres have however been adopted on the North West side of the ground floor concourse.
Control Tower is above the sixth floor level and is the highest point of the building. A square tower has been preferred by the local Civil Aviation Department. There is a balcony around the perimeter of the tower accessible from inside.
Considerable attention has been given to the sound proofing of the building from aircraft noise and reference has been made to the reports and tests made by the National Physics Laboratory.

double windows have been adopted through- out the building including all the main public areas. Two completely separated rows of windows with a 12 inch space between them is being used. The outer row is fixed and the inner row openable for cleaning.
