A complete exposition of the merits of the various kinds of pottery would take a lot of space, but an outstanding change in recent years has been the increasing popularity of Vitreous China. Earthen- ware, the time-honoured traditional mate- rial. will no doubt retain its attraction as a really economical material, capable of giving satisfactory service when used with

Vitreous China has however certain advantages which more than compensate for the slight increase in cost: adequate strength to withstand heavy duty; free- dom from risk of crazing; virtually non- absorbent and the latter could be con- sidered a sine-qua-non" for "sanitary" fixtures!
