boards are equipped with electric points for dehumidifiers or tubular heaters. Hot water in the bathrooms is by electric storage heater.
All bedrooms have provision made for hiting air conditioners; in the two end bedrooms this is utilised as an extra window in the end eleva-
tion if the air-conditioner is not re- quired by the tenant.
Deep brows and cills on the air- ditioning holes conceal the units when fitted, thus retaining an eleva- tional uniformity. Provision for an air-conditioning unit in the third bedroom is given by a removable panel of coloured asbestos cement which matches the Italian mosaic tiles used under the windows.
Both gas and electric services are provided for cooking, allowing tenants a choice. From the kitchen a ultility area is provided which is well ventilated through a concrete grill. Here drying lines and a wash- ing slab are provided together with a small store with tiled shelving which can be used as a separate kitchen for servants if desired.
Servants quarters open off the utility area and consist of two bed. rooms and shower and lavatory.
Entrance halls to each block are paved with green Italian marble and walls are of brown marble.
Two separate stairs provide vertical circulation. one opening to the ser- vants' area and one to the front doors of the flats. Each stair is sup- plemented by a lift.
