External finish to beams and columns is of white unpolished ter- razzo containing marble and shells in white cement. known locally as Shanghai plaster. The infilling con- crete panels are finished in dark Shanghai plaster with a panel of Italian mosaic of greenish blue un- der projected windows. while the kitchens have louvred windows.

Within the flats the living areas consist of a large lounge and dining room. with a deep verandah at front and back. The back verandah permits advantage to be taken of winter sunshine which comes from the north.

Sliding aluminium glazed doors. open from the verandahs into the living rooms which communicate by means of folding doors. thus giving a generous feeling of space and per- mitting desirable ventilation during the summer months.

An obscured glass door gives ac- cess to the bedrooms area ensuring privacy and quiet. Two bathrooms
