uminium curtain wall in front, with similar windows and panels at the side set between column spaces fac ed with glass mosaic. This curtain wall and panelling comes down to first floor level where a canopy juts over the footpath. Below this the walls are finished in polished black granite.

Curtain walls and panels are in a special aluminium allow anodized by a new process, used for the first time in Hong Kong. Sandwich glass, amber in colour. is used to reduce heat and light from the sun. specially from the western exposure. This differing colour in the windows blends well with the colour of the anodized aluminium.

The interior of the Bank itself is a combination of rosewood panelling and white marble columns and coun Lighting comes from a lum- inescent ceiling in which the light sources are shielded behind trans- lucent fibreglass panels over the pub lic and working spaces. This type of lighting fills the whole ceiling in the safe deposit vault, creating a striking effect. This is the first time this product and type of light- ing has been used in Hong Kong.
