The upper floors, which have a total net rent- able area of about 12,000 square feet, are entered from Nelson Street. From this separate en- trance vestibule there is also access to the bank itself, from which ac- cess can be obtained to the safe de- posit department of the bank below ground, which again has an exit to outside.

The office floors are served by two lifts and a double spiral staircase to meet building ordinance require ments. The whole building is fully air-conditioned with а 70 h.p. chilled water system.

The building is of reinforced con- crete construction on concrete piles with extra concrete work below ground, special waterproofing and sheet steel piling all round the site for extra protection to the safe de- posit and vaults.

The vaults themselves are equip ped with the latest model steel doors and emergency doors. Inside the safe deposit section are 4,000 safe deposit boxes for hire and provision is made for that number to be dou bled at a later date.

Outside, the framework of the building is contained within an al-
