Lugtu visted colos- seum projects in Germany, Italy. United States, and other places. He also conferred with architects and engineers engaged in similar pro- jects.

WORLD ARCHITECTS TO HOLD CONGRESS - Architects from all over the world will gather in London in July next year for the Sixth Congress of the International Union of Architects.

It will be the first time that the Congress has met in Britain and, as the Union has 40 member-nations. betwen 1.500 and 2.000 visiting architects are expected to attend.

The theme of the 1961 Congress will be "New Techniques and Materials Their Impact on Archi-

tecture."

The Arts Council of Great Britain and the Royal Institute of British Architects will collaborate in staging an exhibition which will be located in a building adjacent to London's Royal Festival Hall where the Con- gress is to be held.

During the coming months, schools of architecture throughout the world will be taking part in a competition for the design of a movable theatre. Their efforts will form a further exhibition to be seen during the Congress.
