Hong Kong's newest

office building

OTIS elevators, of course

The AIA Building is the newest major office structure to open in Hong Kong. Located in Stubbs Road, it has 24 storeys above ground level and five below: provides 120,000 square feet of office space and a covered parking area for 100

cars.

The building is served by six Otis elevators: four gearless passenger lifts (duty of 3500 lbs at 700 feet per minute) operated by "Autotronic Unlimited," the latest Otis group supervisory control sys- tem; one gearless service lift (3500 lbs, 700 feet per minute) with or without attendant control; one geared shuttle passenger/service lift (3500 lbs, 350 feet per minute). Otis also supplied and installed a stand- by diesel generator which will operate one elevator at a time and the building's emergency lighting system in the event of a main electrical power failure.
