versal night answering service makes it possible for incoming calls to ring a predetermined telephone if the tur- ret is unattended.
The FX dial PBX also provides for transfer of an outside call by dialing "1" to place the call on hold and then the desired station. Private con- sultation with the turret or with the other station is possible while hold- ing the outside call. When either telephone hangs up, the outside call is automatically connected to the other telephone.
Other features include: consecutive number hunting, executive right-of- way, "meet-me" type conference cir- cuit for up to six inside telephones and one trunk, power failure transfer of outside trunks to selected tele- phones, access to dictation equipment and restricted service and toll diver- sion for designated telephones.

PLAN FILE
Suspension Cabinet for Large Drawings
DRAWINGS of up to 63in. by 42in. can be accommodated in a Jumbo suspension plan file cabinet being produced by E. N. Mason and Sons, Lid., Colchester, Essex.
The cabinets are designed to nest side by side or back to back. Each will take 2,400 average thickness double elephant size drawings or 1,200 of antiquarian size. The actual accommodation width is 63 in.
The method of drawing suspension is simple. Drawing holders are sup- plied in the form of reels of strip material, in. wide by 50 yd. long. The length of holder for each draw- ing is measured off from the reel. The protective strip over the adhesive portion at one edge of the material is peeled away and the holder is then pressed down along one edge of the drawing.
The strip holding material is punched with holes at regular in- tervals corresponding to the spacing of polished metal suspension rods

sections at the top part of the cabinet is fitted with a separate hinged cover containing the indexing which is fully visible when the cover is in the raised position.
For sectional indexing, the draw- ing holders themselves are fitted with coloured tabs.
By a simple operational procedure the required plan can be found in a few seconds.
Agents for the Jumbo cabinet are: Associated Instrument Manufac- turers, Ltd., Kuala Lumpur and Singapore; and Galbraith and Grant, Ltd., London, E.C.2, for Thailand and Hong Kong.
ACOUSTIC TILE Development by Research Organisation
THE Building Research Division of the Australian Commonwealth Scien- tific and Industrial Research Or- ganisation, Hignett, Victoria, has de- veloped an interlocking acoustic tile made from pine log fibre.
It is tongued and grooved and is positioned with three staples per linear foot, on battens under joists or concrete. It can also be fixed to gyprock, fibrous plaster, hardboard or timber lining board.
The tile is said to insulate against heat or cold and to absorb up to 80 per cent. of sound.

Standard Dry Wall Products, Inc., New Eagle, Penn., USA.
The material is a blend of sur- factants and solvents said not only to clean concrete but to penetrate in- to it, drawing out undesired ac- cumulations. These deposits are then flushed away with clean water.
The makers distribute to South East Asia and have a stockist in the Philippines Theo. H. Davies and Co., Far East, Ltd., Manila.
