Machine produces 15 large panels an hour

A new industrialised building process developed by Britain's Building Research Station allows scope in design and can produce big concrete panels in a variety of shapes at a rate of 15 an hour.

After seven years develop- ment work with a pilot machine, the BRS is now operating its first 5,000-ton press. An exclusive licence to manufacture the plant has been granted to a consortium of British companies, Go-Con Concrete Ltd. Sales

Sales and dis- cussions are said to be taking place with 59 countries.

The operation comprises a mould in which a filter is placed to avoid pressing out fine mate- rial, and to give a smooth finish. Window formers, reinforcement and conduit are then placed in position.
