have put in tenders for the con- struction of Hong Kong's largest road bridge, a 2,600 ft. long structure to be built at Lai Chi Kok. Kowloon. The bids were submitted on June 17 and the successful firm will be an- nounced shortly.

It is estimated that the work will take two years to complete.

The bridge is a vital part of the modern motorway system planned be- tween Kowloon and the New Terri- tories. Crossing Lai Chi Kok Bay, it will link Kowloon with the nearly completed coastal road in Kwai į Chung, leading to the industrial towns of Tsuen Wan and Castle Peak.
