and meditation. Narrow slot open- ings at a high level of the side walls gradually lead to the central altar with an upward reaching rectangular con- crete skylight,

This skylight is open to the eastern sun and has a large stained glass win- dow which directs light to the altar and also provides a background for the symbolic cross. It is partially open to the nave and only certain parts of the church will view the whole symbol at one time depict- ing the idea that one should search for his belief rather then have it ex- posed to him in full view.

A fair face brick wall is used be- hind the altar and mechanical shafts, White cement plaster is used through- out the ceiling and walls.

All interior finishes and details will be kept simple and executed with res- traint to achieve a serene atmosphere.

The main contractor is Shun Hing Co.

Air-conditioning is by British Gen- eral Electric Co. Ltd.
