Accommodation includes shops, offices, 260 units of flats and 700 car parking spaces. The total area of the building is 600,000 sq. ft. (excluding car parks) which is made up of 170,000 sq. ft. for shops, 45,500 sq. ft. for offices, 238,000 sq. ft. for flats, and a circulation and communal area of 146,500 sq. ft. Central air-condi- tioning is provided for the commercial

areas.

Shops in the centre vary in size from small kiosks to large stores. They cater for a comprehensive range of goods and are arranged so that the im- pulsive buying type shops are situated on the ground floor with the more sophisticated shops on the upper two floors. Two large emporiums are situated on the first and second floors.

The office accommodation is on the third floor, the route to and from the offices being by way of lifts at the front entrance, or by escalators from the main concourse entrance.

Car parking is on five levels and the roof. It is arranged vertically and in such a way that shoppers can enter directly from the car park into the
