Additional posts of Architect and Assistant Structural Engineer are provided to meet the expanding building programme of the Authority. Similarly, the additional Caretakers, Messenger and Semi- skilled Labourers are included to meet the requirements of newly built estates.
In view of the Authority's long term building programme, the former temporary posts of 1 Architect, 1 Assistant Architect, 1 Structural Engineer, 1 Clerk-of-Works Class I, 4 Foremen Class I, 2 Archi- tectural Draughtsmen Class II, 1 Architectural Draughtsman Class III, 1 Engineering Draughtsman, Class I, 59 Housing Assistants and 7 Assistant Building Maintenance Officers have been transferred to the pensionable establishment.
The salaries of the Housing Authority's staff are reimbursed to Government by the Authority, together with a percentage surcharge to cover overheads and liability for pensions, passages, medical services, etc. Special arrangements exist in respect of Government low cost housing estates and are covered by the provisions included under Subhead 2.
