Certain of the provisions included under Other Charges Annually Recurrent for 1963-64 allowed for an increase in training activity during the year. In the event, this increase did not materialize pending re-organization of E.S.C. Units and this accounts for the reduction shown in the revised estimate for the year.

With the completion of the re-organization, an increase in training activity is expected in 1964-65, and the provisions have accordingly been maintained at the 1963-64 level.

The increase in the revised estimate for 1963-64 for Other Charges Annually Recurrent as against the original estimate for the year is due to the employment of A.M.S. personnel on duties in con- nexion with anti-cholera and poliomyelitis campaigns. The overall provision for 1964-65 shows an increase of $47,500 over the original 1963-64 figure, mainly due to the provision of an additional $50,000 under Pay and allowances to allow for an expansion of normal activities.
