In the light of the experience gained in the operation of the experimental Enquiry Counter in the entrance hall of the West Wing of the Central Government Offices, provision for the establishment of a Public Enquiry Centre in Kowloon was approved by Special Warrant in September, 1961, including seven of the nine new posts listed above. The other two new posts, one each of Assistant Information Officer Class I and Assistant Information Officer Class II, were approved by Special Warrant in December, 1961, for duties in connexion with the preparation of information leaflets.
Under Other Charges Annually Recurrent, provision for Cleaning of offices, Fuel, light & power and Rent in connexion with the accommodation in Mong Kok for the new Kowloon Centre accounts for the increase of $24,400.
