The additional posts of four Crown Counsel/Crown Solicitor, one Secretary Stenographer, one Clerk, one Clerical Assistant and one Messenger are required to handle the increasing volume of work.
Under Supernumerary Staff, the post of Attorney General is required for part of the period of the present holder's pre-retirement leave. The four posts of Crown Counsel/Crown Solicitor are held against the four vacancies of Senior Crown Counsel/Senior Crown Soliciter. One new post of Legal Officer (Pupil) is provided for an officer, who has qualified as barrister, to gain legal experience. The remaining post of Clerk is required for part of an officer's pre-retirement leave. Two existing Legal Officer (Pupil) posts have been deleted as the two officers concerned were appointed to substantive Magistrate posts during the year.
