One new post of Principal Executive Officer has been created to replace the post of Chief Executive Officer and one new post of Organization and Methods Officer has been provided for the proposed Organization and Methods Section.
Consequent upon the re-distribution of the functions of the Quartering Office, 3 posts of Hostel Manageress, 2 of Confidential Assistant, 2 of Clerk, 1 of Typist, 1 of Office Attendant and 2 of Amah Class III have been transferred from that department to the Colonial Secretariat. In addition 2 posts of Administrative Officer (offset by 1 Executive Officer), 3 of Executive Officer, 2 of Secretary Stenographer, one of Confidential Assistant, 6 of Clerk, 2 of Typist, 1 of Senior Executive Assistant, 9 of Clerical Assistant and 2 of Messenger have also been added to deal with the increasing volume of work.
The supernumerary posts of Financial Secretary, Administrative Officer and Quartering Authority are required to cover the periods of the pre-retirement leave of these three officers.
These changes, together with normal increments, account for an increase of $306,000 in the vote for Personal Emoluments.
