The new post of Mechanical Engineer (Marine) is for maintenance of the high speed engines now in use and is offset by one post of Surveyor of Ships. It has been necessary to strengthen considerably the staff of the Government Slipway stores at Yau Ma Tei and this has been done by the addition of one post of Stores Officer, three posts of Storekeeper, one post of Stores Attendant and three posts of Store Coolie. At the commencement of the year the unallocated stores now handled for the department by the Government
