The net increase in the establishment is largely due to additional posts in the Preventive Service required to combat the traffic in narcotics. Eight new posts in the Trade Officer grade (one of them is to replace a Cadet Officer post in due course) are provided to allow for a more intensified industrial development, trade promotion, and economic research programme.
