The establishments of Cadet Officers and Confidential Assistants are each reduced from 4 to 3 as a result of the transfer of the post of Commissioner for Housing and his assistant to the Housing Division. An additional Executive Grade officer is required to take charge of the Kowloon Hawkers and Markets Office, and an Interpreter/Translator is needed to provide an efficient interpretation and translation service for the department, mainly to ensure that policies and decisions conveyed to the public are properly understood. Of the 28 additional clerks, 7 were approved during the year for Victoria Park Swimming Pool, (5), and for the Multi- storey Car Park, (2); 5 more are needed to cope with increased work in Head Office, 7 for the District Offices, 1 for the Outlying Areas Office, 3 for the Hawkers and Markets Offices, Hong
