Approved by Special Warrant during the year.

A Cadet Officer Class II is required as an additional Assistant Director owing to expansion of the department; another is required to deal with housing, and a Woman Confidential Assistant is necessary for each new Cadet post. The extra Executive Officer is needed to cope with increased Council work. All five posts were approved during the year. Of the 15 Clerks, two are required for the Personnel Section in Head Office, owing to increased staff, one for the Head Office Stores Section to maintain a new uniform record system, two for assisting the Chief Health Inspectors, Hong Kong and Kowloon, and 10 for assisting the District Health Inspectors. 48 probationary Health Inspectors are required for training during the year so as to enable better coverage of Health Districts to be maintained; 10 substantive posts have been deleted to allow
