Sub-head 61.-Miscellaneous, $5,000.-To provide for miscellaneous works such as temporary markets, alterations to buildings leased by Government, electrical fittings not otherwise provided for and many small items required by various Government Departments.

62.-Water Works, $5,000.-To provide for extensions in newly developed

areas.

63.-Port Works, $500.-This provision is necessary for investigations for

proposed works.

COMMUNICATIONS.

64.-Access Road (15 feet wide) to Christian Chinese Cemetery, Kowloon City, $5,000.-Work on this road was considerably delayed in 1930 owing to the difficulty of providing exchanges for the private land traversed. The length of road dealt with was 2,000 ft.

65.-Castle Peak Road, section from Cheungshawan to Laichikok (60 feet wide), $15,000. This section of road was only 20 ft. wide and in view of the increasing motor bus traffic it is found necessary to widen and improve it by reconstruction to the Town Planning alignment. Length to be dealt with is 3,300 ft.

66.-Improving existing main roads for motor traffic, $20,000.-Necessary for strengthening the main roads to meet the requirements of heavy and fast moving traffic.

DRAINAGE.

67.-Kowloon Tsai, Connection of Stream, to main nullah (central), $10,000. This is necessary in order to drain the low lying areas adjacent to the Kowloon Tong Estate.

68.-Kowloon Tsai, Connection of Stream, to main nullah (southern) $6,000. This training is necessary in order to drain the low lying area ad- jacent to the Southern portion of the Kowloon Tong Estate.

69.-One side wall and invert north of camp, Shamshuipo, $5,000.—This is required for the extension of the Southern wall of the camp site to its junction with the Laichikok Road.

MISCELLANEOUS.

70.-Tong Mi and Kowloon Tong, Filling in areas, $14,000. This com- pletes the filling in of the low lying areas to the East and West of the Nathan Road and North of the Prince Edward Road.

71.-Filling in areas N. W. of Nam Cheong Street and West of Tai Po Road,

$35,000.--To provide access to developed building land and to im prove the drainage and sanitary conditions of this district which is being raised to Town Planning levels.

72.-Refuse Dump at Cheungshawan, $8,500.-This amount is to provide the necessary filling over the Sanitary Board dump. It is essential from a sanitary point of view.

73.-Chinese Cemeteries-laying out new areas, $4,000.-Necessary for the development by terracing and draining new and existing areas in order to make the ground available for burials.

74.-Kowloon City Service Reservoir, $10,000.-In order to improve the Kowloon City Water supply, it is necessary to construct this covered service reservoir.
