Unbeaten Mindanaoans Lose To Mohawks

Nip Lum & Mack Wong Bring Off Only Double-Killing

BY "R.O.Y."

THE FEATURE OF THE WEEK-END BASEBALL SCHEDULE WAS THE DEFEAT OF THE HITHERTO UNBEATEN MINDANAO SQUAD by the Hongkong Baseballers who, in downing the current champions, created the biggest upset of the season.

Far from being dull, as was generally expected, the South China- Royal Engineers clash on Saturday provided the fans with a spine- tingling list inning rally by the Sappers who failed by the narrowest margin possible.

The Mindanaoans started off promisingly enough against the Mohawks and ran into an early three-run lead after blanking the opposition for the first two frames but erratic hurling coupled with several bad bobbles allowed the Club to take the lead in the third stanza
