PREMIER'S SPECIAL ORDER

The Prime Minister of South Africa, Gen. Smuts, issued a special order yesterday about the 'recent disturbances in Johannesburg. He said that he viewed, with the greatest disapproval, the riotous conduct of certain military troops which could only bring discredit on the uniform they wore and to the officer in command, states a London message.

Gen. Smuts drew the attention of all ranks to the necessity of orderly, behaviour even in the face of provocatiofi and the officer in command would take steps to en- force authority and civil law which was necesssary in that State.

The latest report says that all is quiet in Johannesburg now.
