The death of Prince Kimmochi Salonii, an outstanding figure, in 'Japanese politics, was announced from Tokyo yesterday, according tô * London message.

In 1832, the late Prince Salonji went to Europe and America with- the late Prince Ito to investigate parliamentary systems.

The late Prince Kalonji was Min-. ister to Austria in 1885 and to Ber- lin in 1888. He was Education Minister in the second and third Ito Cabinets and in 1910 was Jap- anese delegate to the Paris Peace Conference. He resigned the post of financial advisor to the Imperial Household Department in Decem- ber, 1937.

The late Prince Saionji was the Genro (Elder Statesman) and was. 191 years of age.
