H.K. MODEL LEAGUE

INAUGURATED

The Hongkong Model Acropiane League held its Inaugural cero- mony at Hotel Cecil yesterday afternoon when prizes were Ci tributed to the winners of tha Model Aeroplane Contest held on Nov. 10.

Opening the ceremony, Mr. Wu Ching-chi, Vice-President of the League and proprietor of the Ta- kungpao, strassed the importance of the model aeroplane contest as a means to further the educa- tion of aviation and was excellent training to cultivate men of #cience for China in the future.

Mr. Wa Kung-fu, representing General, Wu Te-chen, Minister of! Overseas Affairs, also spoke on the meaning of the Chinese Air De- fence Day. He concluded by-quot ing the advice given to the nation by Generalisamo Chiang Kai-shek.

Other speakers were Mr. Fung Bee-man, of the League. Mr. Ko Ting-chi and Mr. Wong Shao-iai,¦ members of the China Red Cross | Society and the National Rellet Commission, respectively.

The Little Flower Anthem, sung by the Children's Choir. however.. deserve special' mention as the youngsters taking part were real- ly splendid.
