After ruling steadily in view of trade inquiry, the market clos- ed dull on rumour of a possible quota increase.
Commerce estimates NEW YORK COTTON: The Journal of the cotton crop at 12,580,000 bales, whlist other forecasts range be tween 12,000,000 to 12,600,000 bales.The market met with increased hedge-selling on the advance.
NEW YORK RUBBER: Prices were steady following the strength of other markets. The c.lf. position is reported to be tight and offerings were well taken.
CHICAGO WHEAT:
The strength of the September" position
and the increasing premiums in Kansas City were strengthening in- fluences. Pressure was light and hedging was only moderate. An average of private estimates of the Spring crop shows 216,000,000
bushels.
