MUCH VALUABLE TIME

LONDON, June 4 (Reuter)-Reuter's military corres- pondent states that large French forces äre still vigorous- ly resisting in the Dunkirk area and are continually pre- paring local counter-offensives thus retaining at least 15 German divisions in that area at a time when time is of the greatest value to General Weygand in making his pre- parations.

The French positions, stretching from the sea, to the Maginot Line, have strong natural obstacles in the river, except In certain places. There is a gap of 12 miles between the Somme and the Oise and 18 miles between the Aisne and the Meuse.

The possibilty of an attack between Abberville and Amiens must also be considered though it may not be necessary for General Wey- gand to wait to be attacked.
