OF OVER ONE HUNDRED PHOTOGRAPHS, THE LIKENESS WHICH HAVE NEVER BEFORE BEEN SEEN IN HONGKONG, give visitors to the Chinese Industrial Co-operatives Exhibition a pictorial; Insight into the history, growth, and present day functions of the great movement by which millions of Chinese are being trained and alded in the industrial rehabitalisation of their country in its pre- sent great emergency.

STARTED IN 1938

The CIC. movement was started

In Aug. 1938 when millions of Chi-j nese were thrown out of work as a result of the Japanese, destruc- tion of the Chinese coastal indus- tries. China lost 80 per cent, of her textile industry and 70 ver cent. of her heavy industries which were all concentrated in her coastal cities.
