The market was quiet but steady.

NEW YORK, COTTON: Improved demand for goods brought more spinner buying. Trade interest

today's selling which was small in proportion. Late buying appear- ed, stimulated by the apparent tightness

January Washington reports indicate that about 1,000,000 bales have so far been repossessed.

CHICAGO WHEAT: Reports of heavy snow-fall in the North-Biggs M'facturing West discouraged new buyers and there was moderate precipitation Brooklyn-Mbattan Trans. In the South-West, but much more is needed.
